Dempsey Del Piero Racing and Sparco!

16 aprile 2013 posted by: Sparco Official

Motorsports are unpredictable.

Ever heard of a People’s Choice Award actor and a world football champion joining forces to beat the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the American Le Mans Series? With a team of their own!

Both have already achieved so much in their professional lives, and yet their passion for motorsports has driven them to explore new fields and dive into new challenges.

We are talking about Patrick Dempsey and Alessandro Del Piero. One has been known for years to world-wide audiences as Dr. Sheperd in Grey’s Anatomy, a further acknowledgement for a brilliant career. The other has won FIFA World Cup in 2006 with the Italian team and has been the flagship player of Juventus FC for over 20 years.

And now they are side by side on a new quest. A great team made up of true sportsmen! When we found out that Dempsey would be holding the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, here at Sparco we all were sure we wanted to be part of this exciting challenge. And so it is – we are going to provide this team with all the racegear they need: suits, footwear, gloves, underwear

Once again, we have the honor of joining a project born from top-class pros, aiming straight at the first place. We are ready to provide the best support to our heroes – See you on the track!

A sure grip

Just before a race starts, a driver grips the steering wheel.
How do you describe that feeling?
You grip the wheel so that the car knows who’s in command. And from that moment on your grip has to stay sure and resolute for the entire duration of the race.
A few days ago I tried out a pair of Arrow gloves. They weigh just 42 grams. The new thing about them is called HTX, a natural high-grip resin, injected hot into the fibres of the fabric. It’s a Sparco exclusive patent. The result is a glove that resists both abrasion and tearing, that can keep your hands firmly on the wheel.
That’s what I call a sure grip.
