Yaron Edry is the administrator of the Sparco’s Israeli fan page, as well as an approved Sparco dealer. We met up with him to ask a few questions for our blog.
Introduce yourself to Sparco’s fans.
My name is Yaron Edry and I’m 34. I’m the chief editor of an online magazine called, Walla! Cars (http://cars.walla.co.il) dedicated to automobiles that’s got a great following here in Israel. I’m a great motorsports enthusiast and I even drive as a semipro.
My car is a Peugeot 306 XSI 16V, Sparco equipped, naturally.
How did your passion for Sparco develop?
About 10 years ago I was in a Sparco store buying some gear and I was really impressed with the quality of their products, so I decided to become a Sparco dealer for Karts.
Are there many Sparco enthusiasts in Israel?
In my country, Sparco is the absolute leader in motorsport accessories, thanks to its great reputation and sheer quality, not to mention all our efforts over the years. A few months ago we opened the official Sparco Israel fan page that now has 1300 members and is growing all the time.
How do you keep in touch? Do you organise meetings? Which one is the best?
With Sparco Israel I’ve organised a series of kart races for professionals called the “IKC-TS Sparco Cup” (national championship) and another series for amateurs called the “Sparco Karting Challenge”. Last year we also organised a few Rally Sprint races and circuit days.
Got any useful hints for Sparco?
I hope Sparco keeps in close touch with its fans like Sparco Israel and I do with ours over here. One day I hope to organise more races with Sparco, like the “Sparco World Karting Challenge”.
