Loredana, from rally to Sparco

Sparco’s colleagues include several former racing drivers, and one of these is Loredana.
Loredana was a rally driver, and her career at Sparco has been almost like one of those American dream stories.
In ’94 she was taking part in the trials for the Scorze City Rally, when a navigator friend of hers asked her if she was interested in trying for a job at Sparco, and how can you refuse that?
So she turned up at Sparco for the interview, which in those days was also full of trick questions to really test a candidate’s knowledge, and was taken on.
Now she is the sales manager for countries such as France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, and most of the Latin-American, and over the last 16 years she’s got to know a lot of drivers, some of whom now very famous.
One of her favourite anecdotes is the one about the time she was at the Birmingham Car Show in ’95. After closing all the stands it was standard practice to go out for dinner and a drink with all the clients and one particular evening ended up in a food fight with everyone throwing chicken legs all over the place. Everyone, which at the time included a couple of kids, who grew up to be Richard Burns and Jenson Button.
I don’t think they get involved in too many food fights these days, but it makes a good story.
